After much prayer, seeking God's will, thorough research & peace in both our hearts I have discontinued the conventional treatment. I have started on a new treatment plan using an unconventional approach. Dave will provide more specific details in the next few days.
Also I am going to deliver Joe his peacoat hopefully on Wednesday with Stuart.
You can pray for Dr. Linette (oncologist) & Dr. Simpson (radiation oncologist) response. They received a phone call this morning with the news. Dave & I will probably set appointments to discuss this in person with all the research as we feel it is the honorable thing to do.
At total peace with this decision - Kate

Way to have courage to do what you feel God is calling you to do, even if it is "unconventional." Hoping and praying it goes very well!

Knowing that you have thoroughly PRAYED, RESEARCHED, and then prayed some more, what peace I have that this is in God's hands. I will specifically be praying for Dr. Linette and Dr. Simpson that they will know through the Holy Spirit that this is BEYOND their very capable and conventional medicines. Praying, one minute at a time and loving you each and every minute

Dearest Kate,
I haven't missed a posting on your blog. I cannot begin to express how you and Dave have encouraged me and Wally. We pray for you at every meal and in between. I have a good feeling about your decision, but more importantly you and Dave are one in this and -as Jesus' prayer in John 17 for us - are one in Him. And tonight I pray John 17:20-24 for "Dave and Kate" And every time I read Psalm 121 - I will remember you. It's marked in my Bible: "from Kate, 12-15-06" The Lord shall preserve thy going out and they coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
Thank You.

Kate and Dave,
We followed the advice of a fellow blogger and hung your family picture around our house to pray for you. It is such a refreshing reminder to look at your precious famiy while we pray. Our prayers are with you both and your doctors during this new guidance God has given you. Tom and April Curtis
Kate and Dave:
So glad to hear that you both have the peace that you prayed for and asked all of us to pray for. We love you so much, and will continue to lift you up in our hearts continually before the God who holds you tenderly in His hand. Thanks for the specific request about good communication with your doctors--we'll be interceding there, too. Hugs to all and to Gram!!
Kate & Dave,
May God be glorified today and everyday in your lives. When Bill lost his job & our lives took on a huge amount of unpredicatability, we learned to walk by FAITH and not by SIGHT. It taught us so much about the faithfulness of God and His eagerness to be found by us when we seek Him. We continue to pray for you every, every day. By the way, Kate, we found out Christmas morning that we are expecting again. I cannot express how full of joy we are. We actually got pregnant the very day my Grandma passed away. As my favorite saying goes: GOD IS RARELY EARLY, BUT NEVER LATE.
Leaving you in His loving arms,
Kim & Bill
