He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:29 -31

What a wonderful encouragement! Thanks, Kate.
Kate,
Thank you for the encouragement!! You have encouraged me so many times with your blog and the words God blesses upon you! Happy thanksgiving! Love, April
Yeah, I know I just left a comment like a second ago on the post AFTER this one ... but let it be said that there are days when I would be happy to flap around like a fledgling bird instead of soaring like an adult one. There are some days when I feel like with any step, I'd falter and fall out of the proverbial nest to an awkward crash amidst a flutter of feathers below. There are other days when I feel like I'm tap-tap-tapping with an invisible beak around an eggshell of life and circumstance that surrounds me ... and I can't get OUT! So that's the stages of a bird: hatchling-type, fledgling-type, and soaring-in-the-clouds type. Here's to soaring ... and hoping there's MORE days doing THAT and LESS days doing directionless flapping and useless tapping. Perhaps that all has to do with the part of the passage that talks about those who WAIT and take their strength from the LORD ... instead of relying on their own strength. My strength: more like a hatchling/fledgling. Strength backed by God: ...well: walk, run, soar! Hugs 2 U! Praying for you tonight after your busy day! L Jo
Good morning, Kate! It's quiet here, as I am the only person awake in the house at the moment. I came downstairs to the kitchen to make the apple pie I'm taking to my in-laws for Thanksgiving...
Then I started thinking about Thanksgiving again. What a great holiday, a day set aside to recognize and express thanks to the LORD for who He is and how He cares for/provides for us. I have a long list again this year... and you are on it, my friend.
I am so thankful for your health, that you've had a normal "soccer mom" fall and start of the holiday season, and for the "girl time" we've gotten to have with some mutual friends.
I stopped by the blog, wondering if you had posted anything "Thanksgivingy" :-> and, sure enough, there it was! Encouragement from God's Word, posted by Kate for any blog-checkers to see. Thanks for the encouraging words from scripture.
Blessings to you, Dave, and the boys today!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Stacey
