Zzzzzzzzzz's Needed

That is right! Sleep is needed here in the home for myself. Dr. Forget sent a script for some sleeping pills that we have yet to fill. Looks like it might be soon as I am writing this post at 2:45 in the morning. A little hesitant, though to get the pills as they didn't work well while I was in the hospital. Dave and I might consider the suggested melatonin. I went to bed tonight feeling tired thinking I would fall asleep around 11. I have started to wonder how many times a person can toss an turn in a bed. Frustrating.

Thursday night into Friday morning I had total of 2 1/2hours of nightime sleep. Took a great nap though during the day. Naps have yet to be a problem. I have always napped well. While the older two boys were young I would nap while they did.
I am weary. Please pray for wisdom regarding what avenue of sleep aids should be taken.

Kate,
Our experience with melatonin has been a good one. Sometimes when the kids or Steve or I have an evening where we can't sleep, melatonin helps. It provides enough help without zonking you totally. For instance, I have taken it before and still woke up when one of the kids cried. Hope this helps. Thinking and praying for you!

Hi Kate,

I will pray for you that the sleep issue gets resolved soon. I know how miserable I feel in the midst of a sleepless night...a series of sleepless nights would be quite miserable.

God bless,
Erika

Yep, I'm with ya...sleep is a blessing (see Psalm 3:3--"I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustains me." I myself spin like a chicken on a rotisserie spit, flames licking my hide from below, more often than I'd like to dwell on. I'll pray for you, Kate. Perhaps we should call you "sleepless in St. Louis," though we pray it will soon be "slumbering in St. Louis." The Jobacks

Take it from the queen of tossing and turning, melatonin is a great supplement--a natural nudge in the right direction. I use it regularly. You may wish to try it before going for a medically induced sleep. I've got extras if you'd like to try before you buy. I'll be praying for you!

I can only imagine how frustrating this must be for you. I pray that sleep will come to you naturally.

I am a horrible sleeper. I think it's menopause for me. I toss and turn too, like Ramona Lisa who also commented.

The only thing I DO know is that if I take a nap... even a short 45-minute one... my sleep is K.O.'d for that night. I mean, if I take a nap during the day I might as well put on a pot of coffee at midnight cos I know I'm going to be up practically all night long.

Before you try drugs, maybe you can try doing without a nap during the day. It's worth giving it a try anyway.

I will keep you in my prayers, as I have been.

Love and God bless~ Pearl

It was wonderful to see you, Carter and Cole yesterday- and to see how well you are doing, Kate! God is faithful! I am praying for your sleep, stamina and encouragement from the Lord. Your young men love you so much and I was touched by their protctive nature AND sense of humor! They are fun to be around- and Hunny loves to see them too :) This morning during my quiet time I was studying these verses-
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:5-8
Kate, you possess these qualities- be encouraged- you are persevering! I am praying for you daily- Love in Him, Jen Peskorse
