Disappear
I was listening to a song by Matthew West tonight. A line from the song mentions... "If you disappear would you be missed?" I was troubled with that quote. Are you or I intentional in our relationships?
Just a thought to ponder...

This is quite thought-provoking. No doubt, all the readers and writers here would be greatly missed. The fact that we care, and hurt, and pray for each other shows that we are trying to minister to one another. Another thought: if none of us had families, would we be missed? That puts aother light on things. How are we doing with other relationships in our lives, friends, neighbors, co-workers? Would we be missed by them? Are we making a real difference in their lives?
Kate...that IS very thought provoking. Recently, a friend's mother died of cancer. Her memorial service was phenominal, and the visitation line to see the family was, like, OUT THE DOOR AND DOWN THE BLOCK. Her children and grandchildren sang the verses to "Amazing Grace,"--the new version that has the refrain: "My chains are gone, I've been set free, My God my Savior has ransomed me..." I have chills even now as I write this. The thing that was so touching about her memory and the words spoken about her were the words spoken by her children. Her son spoke about how HONORED he was to have been known as "Mary's boy." Her daughers spoke of her constant presence and support in their own lives, as well as the lives of the many grandchildren she was so famous for doting on. Pastor Mike came in town to honor her memory and speak...he told of her financial provision for families in our church "behind the scenes"...always wanting her identity to remain unknown. The souped-up "Amazing Grace" song was sung in church this past Sunday, and all I could think about was Mary and the legacy that she left behind her...her love for her family, her unselfishness, and the gift of having lived an honorable live in Jesus' name. I have 1/2 the children she had and, since I'm LIKE 29 AND ALL, I don't have ANY grandchildren (yet),...but I hope that when words are spoken somday after my passing, that God's love for others would be as evident in my life as it was in hers. Thanks for the prompting to ponder on the impression WE would leave if we "disappeared." Hugs from the Joback clan....LAURA

YES, you would be missed! You have a husband who loves you and 3 wonderful sons who love and need you. So there is your answer...
NOW I have to contemplate that question for myself.
