Took for Granted

In sharing with you today is a following list of things I found to be difficult (fine motor) in the past weeks but, thankfully no longer do or at least not as difficult.

I took the following list for granted
1. pulling bed covers up to my shoulders & letting go. (letting go was the tricky part)
2. helping Stuart(3)get dressed/ undressed- socks & all.If there are buttons & a zipper forget it.
3. holding blowdryer & hairbrush with my left hand steadily.
4. taking the cap off my deodorant. ** this is finally getting easier!

This is a small list for the blog but, not small in my life as I am sure there are more to namethat haven't come to mind....

Everything in life is a blessing from God. Sometimes its just hard to remember what seems so small to most. Thank you Lord for helping Kate to remember a few of the blessings we all take for granted.

You're right. I think we all take things for granted...big things, little things, medium-sized things. Thanks for reminding us to stop and count our blessings, no matter how big or small they may be. Thinking of you tonight. Laura Joback and family

Dearest Kate~ Sometimes I wonder if it's not a direct blessing from the Lord, to be reminded sometime in our adult lives, of the things we took for grated for so long but come to appreciate once again.

I have not had cancer but I had an illness in my life, years ago, that caused me to not be allowed to bend at the waist, twist at the waist, pick anything up weighing more than 8 oz., sneeze, etc. I had an epidural that had gone wrong and I needed blood patches over the spinal cord so that the spinal fluid would quit leaking out. Even avoiding twisting as I was rolling over in bed was something I had to be conscious of.

I never in my life felt closer to God than I did during that time of great bodily difficulty. But the Lord showed me the sweetness of that position too, in that I was stripped bare of everything that was important to me... except Him.

I pray this time in your life is one of growth in the Lord and that someday you will look back upon these months as a time of great growth in the Lord for you too.

I continue to pray for you! *hugs*

God bless~ Pearl

Kate,

Love the list! Composing my own mental list of what I have been taking for granted.

Praying for you.

Having gone through hand surgery after a wreck and having residual nerve damage, I remember the joy of just being able to touch my thumb tip and index finger together without spasms in my hand. We certainly take our normal functions for granted. Praise the Lord that He is restoring your left side to usefulness again!
