Fatigue sets in

Last night, the second round of chemo cycle was started. Fatigue set in this morning. I fed the boys their Saturday morning breakfast at 7:15. Took my shower. Went back to bed. I stayed there for four hours starting at 9:30ish. As a morning person, I tend to be more productive around the home during these hours of the day. I awoke from my fatigue to a personal "to do" list. I am more and more thankful for the hot meals people have so lovingly served us on various evenings. My energy level has been lacking in the kitchen arena. Keeping pantry and fridge items stocked along with meal planning has been a challenge.

With this fatigue today, I relunctantly stepped down from chaperoning Carter's upcomingThursday field trip. I sent an email to his teacher.

Today has been a quiet Saturday at home. Basketball season unfortunately has ended. Baseball has started yet, cancelled today. Not sure why, might have been due to weather. Whatever the case, God knew what kind of morning I was going to have.

Please pray for Dave. Holding up the fort is a big task when I am down.

Thanks for hanging with us on this one.

Hang in there, my friend! Rely on the Lord for strength and perseverance during this time. Think of it as a light and temporary affliction (1 Corinthians) or sing "God is bigger than Temodar"--Veggie Tales style!

Love you.

Hi Kate:
Praying for you to feel better and a little more like your energetic self. I can totally relate to the fatigue and down right exhaustion. I'm amazed at how much cancer can take from a person. As a mom it is hard for us to take the time we need for ourselves. Praying for strength and wisdom as you go through your journey. Take the time to rest yourself, everything else can wait(dishes, housework) and after rested you will be able to enjoy Dave and the boys. At least you are getting some help with meals and other things. If there is anything I can do to help please call or email me.If you need to talk to someone who can relate I'm here for you. Please know you are not alone in this. Take care. Danielle from IN

Just to let you know that I pray for YOU and your entire family daily. I found you months ago through the "Especially Heather" blog.

Bless those people who are bringing in meals and helping your family. This would be a great time to use paper plates, etc., to cut down on clean-ups for you or your hubby.

You are remembered each day with prayers to God for your healing and restoration to health.

Kate-
Some women at biblestudy were asking about you today. You are still on our hearts.

Hebrews 11: 32-34
And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell you about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthan, David, Samuel and the prophets, who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames and escaped the edge of the sword: whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies.

I am praying that through faith your weakness will be turned to strength as well.
Love,
Elizabeth Ward
