Not as planned

Last night after Cole's party I was exhausted. I had hoped to post some pics for you yet went to bed early. Dave ended up waking me for my pills, Zofran wait an hour then the last day 5/5 for second round of chemo. This morning has not gone as planned. Noticing the fish tank was filled with gunky food...Stuart arrived. While I was overseeing the problem with an empty food container he stated "I feed fish tank, Mommy." "I see Stu." He was up at 2 am turning on all hallway lights and I wonder if he fed the fish at that time while he was getting a drink in the boys bathroom. I think he was getting a drink. Dave wondered early this morning (prior to finding out about the tank fiasco) if he was sleepwalking. I rule out sleepwalking. We had fast food last night. It was Cole's choice in the dinner he wanted. Cheeseburgers and cheese fries. Salty for us. Ooooooooo but good. We needed our potassium this morning for sure to aid in the sodium intake last night.

This morning was spent cleaning a fish tank and taking a late shower. Not something I wanted to do so early in the morning (shower yes, fish tank no) with an upset stomach. The fish tank smelled awful! I had just drank my morning smoothie. Yuck! Double yuck.

As for the second round chemo (Temodar) effects, it consisted of a crampy stomach early in the morning, fatigue throughout day but not as bad as Saturday the 8th. A rash is here as well but in a different location.

Enough said here are the pics from Cole's special day! I especially love the close up picture with his Lego Bionicle toys. Notice his chocolate lip with Mommy and Daddy. The choco chip cookie cake was wonderful!

Kate, these a great pictures. I pray for you and your family every day. Just thought you would like to know. I include your entire family in prayer, since this is a "family project" you are going through. That is probably poor wording, but you know what I mean.

Sorry about cleaning the fish tank when it wasn't planned, but he probably thought he was helping. Fish tanks on a GOOD day are bad. Yuck! (I no longer have a fish tank.)

I'll continue to pray for all of you.

I have a picture in my head of a cute little 3 year old boy, up at 2:00AM, having to go to the bathroom, and on the way, making a "pit stop" to see what fish do at 2:00AM..."oh, they look hungry!".....Hhhmmmm....years from now, you'll look back and laugh. :)

A good burger & fries every once in a while just hits the spot!! Glad you all enjoyed yourselves!!

We're praying for you...stomach cramps, fatigue...energy for your whole family (OK, maybe not at 2:00AM, though).

In His Grip,
Sue, Robert, & Lily :)
PS--We really like Ben Stein & his articles...the movie will be very interesting, I'm thinking.

Great pics, Kate...BOY does he have your eyes! I had a boyfriend once (didn't last long) who fed pepperoni pizza to my goldfish. They exploded within 24 hours. Literally. Fish gone...boyfriend gone... Glad you're more forgiving with your son, huh? I did get a good chuckle out of his "helping you" feed the fish. Isn't parenthood a riot...AND a job that requires occasional extra-long showers? Thinking of you. Laura Joback

Fish tanks on a good stomach are just nasty! I'm so sorry that you had to be subjected to that so early in the morning.

Happy birthday to Cole. Looks like everyone had a great time.

Hi Kate! So sorry to hear about the fish tank incident. Yuck!! Sounds like one of those "it will be funny LATER" moments. Maybe it's already a little bit funny now...

The birthday pictures are great! Now I know what a Lego Bionicle toy is. At our house it's all pink and princess-y (just ask Laura!), so Bionicle toys look like creatures from a foreign land. Looks like you all had a wonderful day and made some great memories.

We are praying for you every day. Hope to see you and Stuart at the pool again soon! :->

Stacey - and Dave & Jordan, too!
