What is love?

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

The above passage has been in my mind. I have been pondering what it means to truly love. I am not perfect. It is difficult to love like Christ but not impossible.

Today is the first of my chemo regimen. I think it is the 3rd series. My weekend retreat starts today as well.

Pondering this as well. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Oad8ov10AjY
I am lost without Jesus.

Gotta run errands & pack!

Glad you have a retreat to look forward to...praying that you have minimal side effects from your chemo regimen. Looks sunny out there...at least brighter than the past few days. Hugs to you this AM. Laura Joback

And I am feeling sorry for myself! I somehow found your blog today and just spent the past hours reading it from beginning to end. Once again God has given me others to pray for. I will pray for you and your family as He brings you to my mind. Hoping you enjoyed your retreat, Kate. Sure sounds like it is much deserved!!

Kate,
This retreat is much deserved and I hope you had a wonderful time.
Upon reading your blog today I clicked on the link to the Michael W Smith youtube song that you attached and listened. I love that praise song and find much comfort in it. However, I couldn't help but notice the date at the bottom. That date is just two months after the passing of my father who too had a brain tumor. At that time, two months after, I was needing so much comfort and this song was perfect. Don't worry, he did not pass from the tumor, he had complications from other things and his age was not on his side either. He was 77. We are coming up on the 4 year anniversary of his death and I sit at my mothers house now and comfort her on many weekends and think about the wonderful times together. Thanks for the song and the help to get through this time.
God will pull you through this, I have faith that a woman such as yourself that helps to lead others to know God's good will is going to be just fine. You have also helped me through the times with my own son, Chase, you may not know it, but you have. I still look on your blog and pray for you as you come to my mind.
I love what you are doing for our Lord. Keep the faith....

If only we could come close to attaining the standards set forth in Corinthians! Our only hope is in Christ, who models pure love and gives us the ability to strive for the kind of love that can make a difference.

Thinking of you!
