A Broken Record

I have been battling a cold the past few days. Dave unfortunately has also contracted it as of this morning. It is tiring/discouraging having multiple colds. My throat is sore at night with this cold. Sleep is affected.

This weekend was good even with a cold. The boys each played their respective games great! Cole scored his first ever goal in soccer. I didn't get to see this feat. I heard it was wonderful. I stayed home while Carter caught up on his sleep. Friday night he attended a lock-in at church with his fellow Sunday school friends. As for Carter's feat he had his first "in the park home run" last night at his fall ball game. Cole, Stuart and I were at the schools fall picnic. Yes, I missed both feats. Discouraging.

Hope your weekend is going well.

I have my next MRI on Tuesday morning.

Will pray for the MRI Tuesday AND for a mom's heart that is sad b/c she missed some big moments in her boys' lives: a home run and a soccer goal are two biggies...I understand how you'd feel like you "shoulda'" been there. But, Kate, remember: you ARE here! You are here on this earth by the grace of God and His hand resting on your cranium (literally) and flying you through two years of malignancy, surgeries, radiation, and chemo. Your lack of proximity to the sports moments of the weekend is FAR FAR FAR made up for by your everyday presence in those boys' lives...loving them, caring for them, packing lunches, keeping up with homework assitance, carpooling, listening to their stories, singing to them, kissing boo-boo's... Girl: every moment you HAVE with them, whether at their side OR rooting them on from the homefront is appreciated and cherished. They'll look back on it and remember, in general: Mom was there. Don't you worry 'bout that. L Jo
