12 Radiation treatments to go

I only have 12 radiation treatments to go! I am past the halfway point. February 9 is looking better and better each day. My head is a little sore, tender and has a burning sensation but it doesn't look red on the actual skin thankfully. I think the aquaphor ointment and being well hydrated is helping. I am taking more naps and sleeping well at night. I have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning. I think the radiation is the culprit. I am normally a morning person.

I heard from another Hope Lodge patient that Joe's eye surgery was good. He slept well last night and was up eating breakfast this morning. I was relieved to hear this news and wanted to pass it along to you. I hope to see him tomorrow after my treatment at 9:30.

Keep treckin' along

Hey Kate!
Just caught up on the last couple of posts. I'm in the library b/c I now have no computer access at home :(
Anyway, I'm still praying for you and your family and wanted you to know it.

Was thinking about Jesus' words to his disciples in John 16:33. "These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world."

You really seem to be exhibiting that peace (except for maybe when you almost took my front bumper off while flying into the carpool line this afternoon!) (Joke)

I really love your hair cut. It's very stylish. . . makes me ready for summer. . . I always lose several inches when it starts to get hot outside.

Thanks for shining Jesus' peace even in the midst of tribulation.

You are an inspiration to me. I was diagnosed with a Brain Tumor Nov. 4, 2006 and had surgery followed by the chemo pills and the lovely radiation. I just finished my last radiation, waiting for my MRI the end of Feb, then I will restart my chemo.
I thought this could never happen to a mother of 3 young kids and a homemaker who is supposed to be running the home, however it happened and boy do I appreciate every day.

Reading your story is very comforting to me that there is other people out there in my shoes.

May God bless you and your family, we pray all the time and now will include you and your family in our prayers.

I don't know if you want to write back, I would love to talk to you, as no one really knows what this is like.
