Out of ICU

Praise the Lord that Kate was able to leave the ICU into a private room. It is much quieter. They were able to put her on 1/2 a dose of morphine to ease her pain. She is resting peacefully right now.

A speech therapist will be in shortly to test Kate's ability to swallow correctly. Please pray that her left side weakness does not impact her swallowing.

My spirit and flesh ache for my wife as she is going through this. Please pray for strength and endurance.

Dave

May the Lord give you the strength and endurance you require to run this race. You are NOT running alone! So thankful to hear that Kate is more comfortable. Praying and believing that her swallowing has not been impacted and continuing to intercede that the left-sided weakness will resolve in the mighty Name of Jesus!

Dave - you, Kate and the boys are very much in our prayers! Thank you for posting and allowing us to be a part. As I was listening to some Christmas music today, this portion stood out and I thought it might encourage you guys. It is from "Our God With Us" by Steven Curtis Chapman...

"...and with love that conquers lonliness and hope that fills all emptiness He came to earth to show our worth. Our God is with us, Emmanuel. He came to save us, Emmanuel. And we will never face life alone, now that God has made himself known. Father and Friend who's love never ends, Emmanuel."

Love, Tabatha

Dave & Kate --

You are being lifted up MIGHTILY to the Gentle Healer by so, so many people today. Dave, glad to hear that you rested! (an answer to prayer) We're also thankful to hear Kate's out of ICU and into a private room -- another request answered. Please keep us apprised and enable us to continue to pray specific prayers . . .

When you get a chance, let us know the results of the surgery. Did Dr. Forget feel that he was successful in removing the tumor? Was there any word from him on the tumor itself? It sounds like everything must have gone according to plan. Hope that is the case.

Thanks.

Dave,
We rejoice with Kate's progress, and continue to pray for both of you. The struggles you are having reflect your love for Kate and for our God. We appreciate your willingness to share the joys and the trials, and give thanks to God for all things - in all of them, may He be glorified!

Dave, glad to hear about the departure from ICU. Will pray rest for you BOTH. Everyone has been locked in to your story on this blog and by phone relay, too. If prayer were a blanket covering you two (which it IS),...and you peeked out from under the blanket's edge, you'd be unable to visualize the sky above b/c of the depth of the saints' requests surrounding you both. Stay under there where it's cozy, and we'll keep the prayers coming! Laura Joback
