It's my schedule time to pray, and I've just gotten through the official list of requests you and Kate made one time. Getting ready to pray through it again.... Also praying that the people at St. John's would sense that there is something special going on in that surgical suite today...from the anesthesiologist to the surgeon, from the nursing staff to the woman who empties the trash and the man who polishes the floor...that they would KNOW that God is alive and working in Kate's heart, in Dave's heart, and in the lives of the people that her story in Cancerland has touched. My staff is wigged out b/c I'm crying, but they can deal w/ it. That's what waterproof mascara is for. Still praying...(but took a moment to check the blog)...Laura Joback

hey, aunt dee dee here. i have my checklist for today: pick kids up from school, do homework, go to piano lessons, relieve Ramona back at the house, dinner, more homework, bedtime--and then aunt dee dee crashes (that wasn't written on Kate's bullet-pointed list, but I thought I'd add it). there's a bittersweetness to picking up where grams and myself left off last year, with our homefront reports--some of you may remember them: "news from the homefront." so here we go again...

Praying for you! Have been keeping up with you thru Heather's blog and now thru here.
Asking Him to bring Kate safely and completely well thru this surgery that there is NO cancer, that she is 100% healed and 100% "Kate"...no personality and emotional (and organization/planning) changes.
Lifting up you, Dave and the boys, Kate's mom and Dee Dee, too! So happy to hear she was calm and peaceful going in...a blessing and answer to prayer.

Kate and Family,

I'm praying for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. I pray that fear have no toe-hold on any member of your family and they all have that incredible peace that only comes from Christ Jesus.

Reading your blog has been such a blessing. It does my heart good to see those who walk in faith and trust our Heavenly Father.

I've been a silent lurker, but wanted you to know that my prayers will be lifted up for all of you, and the surgical team, throughout the day. I have joined your platoon of prayer warriors and my hands are ready for battle!

Prayers and more prayers...

Dave,

We are praying for Kate and all of you. We spent a lot of time praying for her this morning during our teacher prayer time before school started, so know that all of us here at Twin Oaks Christian School are praying for Kate and her doctors and for you and the boys.

Thanks for taking the time to update the blog. It is good to know how things are progressing and I am so glad that Kate was at peace during all of the prelimiary tests this morning. Glad you have some familiar faces as well.

We'll keep praying!

Amy Andersen (Griffin has been praying for Carter, too, in his 3rd grade class today)

Dave,

I love it that Kate was working on her CBS lesson while waiting this morning! What an example to all of us -- she knows where her strength comes from. Kate is such a blessing to our CBS core group this year. She was much prayed over this morning by our group and Laura (the teaching director) stopped her lecture at 11 am and prayed for Kate again before the entire class. She gave her testimony several weeks ago so the entire CBS class (several hundred women)has her in their hearts and prayers. Our entire core group are continually lifting you and Kate and your family up before the King of Kings, Jesus Christ. We look ahead to the new year when she will be back in our circle sharing her insights from scripture.

O Lord, be gracious to us; we long for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress. Is. 33:2

Just want you to know that I have been thinking of Kate off and on since 10:30 a.m. (just in case they started early--that'll be the day).

I know that you have a prayer circle going (24/7). I will sit in meditation for Kate to add my intentions to the group.

Dave-
I have been praying for you on and off all day- Bill is praying in Korea and called this morning to say he will continue to pray.... I specifically prayed for NO side effects upon coming out of surgery-for adequate pain relief and for no nausea-
I have been praying from the book of Isaiah-
But now this is what the Lord says-He who created you, O Jacob, He who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior." Isaiah 43:1-3 Pressing on in prayer- Jen Peskorse
