Urgent Prayer Needed

Kate is in the post-op recovery room. We just met with Dr. Forget and he said that she is awake and responsive and can follow simple commands (counting on fingers, etc). However, she is very weak on the left side of her body. This is either do to swelling at the surgical site in her brain which is affecting the adjacent area that controls motor function, or it is due to the aggressiveness of the surgery.

Please pray that it is the former and will improve as the swelling subsides.

Dave

Ian, Jordan, and I just had a prayer session right at the computer. I'm sure Steve is praying on his way home too.

Psalm 46:10-11

Be still and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

We wait in hope for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His Holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon Kate, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you.Psalm 33:20-22

Praying.......trusting in Him alone.

Lord, I praise you for a successful update on Kate. I have lifted your child up to you tonight expecting to hear great things. I know that you are in control of all things right now, and that includes what is going on with Kate. I believe you will move on her behalf when the time is right. I thank you now Lord for what you have already done for Kate and what you are going to do for her tomorrow. We stand in awe of you and in your glory. Amen

Continuing to pray in Atlanta,

You are strong when we are weak, Lord...show that truth to Kate in these hours after recovery. We trust that Dr. Forget's hands were skilled in the manipulation of such delicate tissue. We pray that any edema, swelling or aggravation in the frontal lobes and adjacent motor portions will subside, and that Kate will regain strength and coordination. Help us to be patient for your timing, Lord...being in Your hands is a safe cleft to cuddle. I thought of "Rock of ages, cleft for me..." this AM in reference to Kate, thinking of Kate nestled in a crevice in the face of a cliff that, granted, had a pretty sheer drop to a valley below, but she was SAFE within the walls of the space cleaved out for her keeping by the hand of her Creator. Give peace and strength to Dave for the wait... Laura Joback
