Kate's Hot

Kate is up and moving around this evening and very perky (given the circumstances). She is helping me write this post and told me what to put for the title.

A quick update on the last post, I can't provide all the details over the blog but God answered that prayer while I went home for a shower and to see the boys (Kate told me to) and now even I have sleeping accomodations for the night.

Kate is grateful for everyone's prayer support (especially those in Taiwan covering her with prayer in the middle of the night). She has a slight temperature and asks that you pray for it to go down. Also, her blood sugar is up a bit, she is eating some food while I type this so we hope is goes down.

Tomorrow, we expect to hear the results of the biopsy on the tumor. Tonight, we hope for a good night's sleep.

Grace and peace to all of our friends,

Dave (and Kate)

Kate-
I will be praying tonight that your temp goes down- but I have to agree that you are "hot"! I am thankful for all of your helpers and prayer support- It is so beautiful to see the body of Christ in action. Rest tonight- you too ,Dave! and know that we are praying for you! Love in Him, Jen Peskorse

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. Romans 8:26

Thank you God for Kate's spunky and humorous attitude. This must be a great relief to all. Her wit, charm and positive attitude fill us with gratitude. God keep you safe and give you rest (all of you!) Martha M

Kate and Dave, this is Mary Lou (Zook) Hom here in Portland, Oregon. I am trying my hand at blogging for the first time...let's see how this goes.

Arthur and I along with our 20 month old daughter Dacia Grace have been praying for you since Laura Joback called on Sunday with the lastest "Snodgrass" news! Oh how I wish that I could give you a great big hug! I am glad to know though that at any moment Jesus can give you that hug for me and that it is so much bigger than the one I could ever give you!

We have been reading the blog daily to get updates and are encouraged to see your progress and to see the awesome ways that God is providing for all your needs.

Dave and Kate-
We are praising God with you for how He has worked in this whole situation so far. Reading through all of these blogs tonight has filled my heart with joy and renewed my love for God. It is amazing to see how you are loved by so many. Thank you for letting us share this journey with you. What an amazing heritage and memory these words are and will be for years to come for your boys and many others...truly searing God's power and your faith into their hearts in such a real way.
It has been so great to share your story with our children and to hear their concern for you and innocent prayers for you. As we have been praying for you today I have continued to have Psalm 23 in my mind. I love how it is written in Jimmy's (my 6 yr. old) bible.
"The Lord is my Shepherd. He gives me everything I need. He lets me lie down in green grass. He leads me beside quiet waters. He gives me new strength. He guides me in the right paths for the honor of his name. (The path you are on right now.) Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid. You are with me. Your shepherd's rod and staff comfort me. You prepare a feast for me right in front of my enemies. You pour oil on my head. My cup runs over. I am sure that your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life. And I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
I am reminded through these verses of how our great shepherd Jesus cares for our physical needs, comforts our pain and ministers to our spirit, restoring and filling our souls. We will be praying for all of these things in the days to come for each member of your family by name.
Sincerely,
The Obertops...Michael, Casey, Jimmy, Julie, and Jamie.

Kate - We will be praying for you and your family as you recover. It is good to hear of the support that has rallied around you. Our God does supply all our needs. We will concentrate now on asking God for complete physical wellness, a positive biopsy result and rest for all of you. Amelia Schultz

Kate & Dave,

I find it very refreshing (with all the bad stuff that’s out there) that God can use the internet for such good too! What an amazing story of how the Body of Christ is at work, and how God is so clearly providing for and loving your family! The moment Doug told me about your situation, my heart ached for you and your family. Kristen, Kate and I have been praying for you for morning, noon, and night, for the past few days. We will continue to pray for your needs as we stay up-to-date with this blog. Thank you both for sharing this journey with us. Praise God!

In His Love,
Doug, Lynne, Kristen & Kate Pogue

Isaiah 41:13
For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

2 Chronicles 20:14-17
'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's.

You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.' "

It isn't only those in Taiwan praying in the middle of the night. I am up and can't sleep. This is strange for me. So, I thought, Lord, who do you want me to pray for? Immediately, I thought of you guys and jumped up to see if there is a new post. So, I hope you are sleeping and resting in the truth that "He who keeps Israel will never slumber or sleep." (Psalm 121:4)

At this late hour, I am also reminded of some encouragement I found recently in Scripture where the Lord tells his people in Isaiah 52:12b that "the Lord will go before you and the God of Israel will be your rear guard." He goes before you and behind you, surrounding you with His presence and love.

Hi again!
I too am awake in the middle of the night (up with Carly briefly), and as I was praying for you, resisting the strong urge to check your blog, I climbed back into bed and then thought that I'd let you know that you're being prayed for. So there was my good excuse to get an update! (Hope I'm not being a nuisance--I've written several times now!)
So glad to know exactly what to pray for (temp and blood sugar), and I was again brought to tears as I read that God has answered our prayers re: your room/sleeping arrangements. HE IS SO GOOD!
Kate, I love knowing that you haven't lost your sense of humor in the midst of this. It's a joy and a relief to laugh with you!
