WOW Kate! Music is a powerful thing. I've been reading your blog for a few weeks and have been praying for you all along, but this is my first comment... Much needed after reading this song. This song spoke to my heart as well during my struggle with infertility (yes, believe it or not, but now I have 3 children under 4!). Your valley is so deep, yet you have maintained an amazing faith - so inspiring and convicting. The fire is blazing right in your face and you are still singing praises to our Father, knowing you are not alone. WOW! I was able to meet Ginny Owens face-to-face and told her how much this song meant to me. Now it means so much more. God bless you, Kate. I'll be singing with you.

Good morning, sweet friend. Our family just got back from a road trip to Utah (long story). Carter will like to know that Flat Stanley made the trip with us, so pictures should be arriving shortly. Flat Stanley's highlight was their new Children's Museum - which made for very excited kids and a very exhausted mommy! :)
We have missed checking into the blog and seeing where you are at on your journey. All the ups and downs of your emotions are normal, Kate...hang in there! I came across Ecc 3:11 this morning and thought of what you're experiencing:
"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end."
Rest in the fact that God is in control, even when your life doesn't seem to be....he is still there in the midst of your emotions, fears, and praises.

The Brain Repairs Itself
I Kings: 4:29
“And God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore.”
One of the most studied but least understood organs in the human body is the brain. The human brain is the most complex arrangement of matter in the universe. There are many different theories about how the brain works, but one universally recognized fact is that the brain is more sensitive to damage than any other organ.
Scientists studying the brain have learned that when the brain is injured, it triggers the release of some very special chemicals called neuronotrophic factors. While researchers aren't sure how these chemicals actually work, studies show that the chemicals seem to help the brain repair damage to itself. They believe that each of the different chemicals works to repair a specific structure in the brain.
Medical researchers are continuing their study of these factors with the hope of using artificially created versions to help those suffering from brain damage due to stroke and trauma. They hope to learn from the body how to help the body do what it now tries to do for itself.
Surely the advanced knowledge of biochemistry necessary to create a way for the brain to repair itself does not come from matter itself. Only a powerful and wise Creator - the Creator described in the Bible - could have made this system. But we speak here of more than His wisdom. For His gift of the brain's ability to repair damage to itself also show that He looks upon us with love. The highest expression of His love to us is found in Jesus Christ.
Prayer: Dear Father; when I am tempted to escape Your anger over sin remind me that Your deepest desire is that I cling to what Your Son, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, has done for my forgiveness. Amen.
